Yuan is one of the Taishirō, the Four Elders of the Mibu clan, one of the most powerful characters in the series, and is also the teacher of Hotaru, a member of the Goyōsei, or the Five Stars. He is characterized by his short white hair and long red bandanna, which he ties around his normally-blind eyes.
