Powers & Abilities

The former Aka no Ou knows every technique used by the Mibu, making him one of the strongest people alive. He can use any technique instantly, with 3 times the power. He can use a single drop of his blood to create an endless army of blood soldiers. These blood soldiers cannot be destroyed except for people with Mibu blood, or wielders of Muramasa's weapons. He can also re-absorb the Red Cross Knights, increasing his power many times over.

He also has complete control over the lives of all other Mibu battle dolls. He can seal away their souls with a single gesture. He is also able to fire an arrow made of light at his enemies. The arrow is powerful enough to completely destroy a person easily.

Even without any powers, the former Aka no Ou was far from weak. When Yukimura attacked him, Aka no Ou effortlessly dodged all his attacks, then almost killed Yukimura with his willpower alone. Though it did not kill Yukimura, it destroyed a large section of the Red Tower.

The former Aka no Ou is also immortal. The only way to kill him is to destroy his heart, which he has hidden away.

History

The former Aka no Ou first appeared in volume 16 and his appearance revealed in volume 27. Although he made small appearances along the way, he did not fight until volume 33. He showed off his powers by destroying a section of the Red Tower with his willpower alone. He then defeated Yukimura by using his own technique against him. He would not fight again until Kyo and Kyoshiro teamed up on him.

Kyo's group (minus the ones with Mibu Blood) attacked him. Benitora, Sasuke, Yukimura and even Kyoshiro failed to just know him out of his throne. While the former Aka no Ou was gloating, Kyo surprised him and punched him off his throne. Amused, the former Aka no Ou defeated everyone except Kyo without moving from the spot. Even Kyo could not keep up to him.

Kyo allowed his lust for battle to take over, turning him into a killing machine. Although Kyo managed to defeat the former Aka no Ou, his lust for battle made him turn on his friends. After Kyo fought off his battle lust, the former Aka no Ou re-absorbed Chinmei and Kyoshiro, allowing him to defeat Kyo. As their swords were about to clash for a final time, Kyoshiro's spirit managed to break free of the former Aka no Ou and regain his body. Distracted, Kyo managed to defeat the foremr Aka no Ou.
