Sanada Yukimura is a samurai who is out of favor with the Shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu, because he and his father, Masayuki, sided with Ieyasu's opponents during the Battle of Sekigahara. He is supposed to be in exile at Kudoyama (Mount Kudo) but frequently slips away to try to rouse other samurai nobles against the Shogun. In this role, he uses an assumed name, Genjirou. Presumably this is what he was doing when he ran into Kyo, Yuya, and Benitora in Volume 03. He is fond of liquor and carnal pleasures, but by the end of Volume 03, it's revealed that he's also a fantastic swordsman, and he has a reputation as stellar military leader as well. His skills, are of equal match with Demon eyes Kyo and is able to tie with him in their last match. His skills increase parallel to how Kyo's increases. While, you don't see Yukimura much during the mibu trials, you notice his skill developement

[Against the Former and Chinmei]

  Yukimura, while training and infiltrating the Mibu castle, He came along

both Yuya and lady Sakuya, being abducted by the Former himself. Yukimura ended up fighting the former Crimson King, and was capable of saving his fellow juyushi by destroying the Formers three Suzaku's. (showing progress since earlier he was only capable of matching one of Kyo's suzaku's in their previous duel). He lost this fight badly, although he ended up knocking the former's glasses off, and successfully used the Sekireigan technique twice in succession, creating the "Sekireigan nirenshiki". The Former was about to kill Yukimura, but Kyoshiro stepped in and attacked Yukimura, ultimately "saving" him from being killed. Right after this, Chinmei, the Former Crimson King's "Joker", fought with a badly wounded Yukimura, luckily, A rejuvinated, Sasuke entered the fray and battled for a short while, in this time, Yukimura used a quick witted technique to save Sasuke from being injured, it is ultimately him, who defeats Chinmei by slicing Chinmei in half with a new Muramasa short sword.

[ Techniques and Abilities]

Although most of Yukimura's are on par with Kyo's, his greatest feature would have to be his speed. Yukimura is known for being one of the faster characters in SDK. He initally ends his fights by slicing his opponents. He was capable of knocking off the former Crimson King's glasses in his fights. Although most of his fights were outlived, due to the fact that he always had to protect something, he displayed great abilit, being able to slice Chinmei in half, and defeating three of the formers' Suzakus.

White Heron Flower:

 This technique is used once 

against Chinmei in volume 30. He is seen being able to either nuetralize the black gravity ball of his, or attack with a white shine, canceling the gravity attack out. It seems That it may also work along with Sekireigan, both being speed techniques as mentioned by Chinmei.

Sekireigan

this technique is made up of both High speed and Illusions create by the user in order for the user to defend and attack at the same time, with multiple ferocious strikes. He was able to defeat Kyo's Suzaku with this technique in volume 27. - Seon -- Chomiji
