Powers & Abilities

Hishigi is one of the strongest Taishirou. He is capable of extreme speeds and devastating attacks. In battle, he uses a large sword as his main weapon. With the sword, he is capable of creating projectile attacks that move at lightspeed.

Although he is strong, his techniques is not what makes him one of the most dangerous person. It is the secret that he hides beneath his mask. Hidden under clothes and a mask that covers the left side of his face are numerous Medusa Eyes. Each one can turn a person to stone with a mere glance. This power even works if you are blindfolded, as shown by Yuan. After being turned to stone, the person will crumble until nothing is left except dust. Only people with Mibu blood and Shin Red Eyes can fight the effects of the Medusa Eyes.

In addition to turning people to stone, the Medusa Eyes render the bearer completely immune to negative spells and magic.

But the Medusa Eyes are not the only eyes that give him powers. He is capable of using the Red Eyes, which turn his eyes blood red and multiplies his power.

History

Hishigi's first fight against Kyo was in volume 30. He acted as a diversion in order for Kyoshiro to escape. He held off Kyo's group easily by temporarily turning their legs to stone.

He does not fight them again until volume 32. Hishigi, along with Fubuki, ambushed Kyo's group, which consisted of Kyo, Akari, Yuan, Julian, Shinrei and Hotaru. Hishigi surprised them all by activating Akari's Medusa Eye, turning her into his bodyguard, Ashura. While Ashura held off Kyo, Julian and Hotaru, Hishigi fought Yuan. The two were evenly matched, even though Yuan was using the Red Eyes.

After Kyo managed to destroy Akari's Medusa Eye, Hishigi used his "lightspeed Slash" attack on Akari. The attack hit Kyo instead, knocking him out and badly injuring him.Akari, Yuan and Julian all attacked Hishigi. Hishigi easily defeated them and revealed what was under his mask. Half his body was covered with Medusa Eyes. Yuan, who was about to attack Hishigi, was instantly turned to stone. Hishigi revealed that people with Red Eyes can overcome the petrification over time. Yuan broke free of the Medusa Eyes' effects and, along with Hotaru, attacked Hishigi. They were defeated in one attack when Hishigi showed that he too can use the Red Eyes.

Hishigi's victory was short lived however, when Kyo regained consciousness. Kyo showed his true power by activating the Shin-Red Eyes. Kyo easily defeated both Fubuki and Hishigi. While Hishigi was badly injured Fubuki used a suicidal power-up in an attempt to fight Kyo.

Meanwhile, Hishigi had used up the power of his Medusa Eyes, which began drying up. The Medusa Eyes had kept him safe from the effects of the Death Disease. Without them, the disease began destroying his body. Knowing that he cannot be saved, Hishigi transferred all of his memories, along with all his research on the Mibu, to Akari. He then used the last of his energy to explode his own body, hoping to kill Kyo. While the explosion did injure Kyo, it did not kill him.

Half dead, Hishigi transfered all his remaining energy to Fubuki so that he could fight Kyo.
