Character Overview

Akira is one of the Four Emperors. He is the only blind individual in the Four Emperors. He is also the only one without samurai blood, which means he could never catch up to the powers of the other Four Emperors. Four years before the manga began, he blinded himself to close that gap, even surpassing some of them. He is nicknamed the Twined headed Dragon due to his two swords and his personality, which can change from kind to cruel in an instant.

Powers & Abilities

Akira's ability to create and manipulate Ice has made him a strong ally,even allowing him to defeat Oda Nobunaga in Torii's body. He was even capable of defeating one of the 4 Elders of the Mibu, Tokito. Akira's Techniques mainly focus around his power to manipulate ice. He has also shown he is a genius in combat, where he can instantly work our a new strategy, and even allowing him to copy an enemy's technique.

Muyo Ghetten:

Akira traps his enemies in pillars of ice, then shatters them.

 

Hyokenseisho:

Akira traps his enemies in an ice barrier, where he can freely torture his enemies. If his enemies try to attack him, they hit an ice pillar instead, shattering it and sending razor sharp ice shards flying at them.

 

Inferno's Chill:

Using his body as fuel, Akira drops the temperature around him to Absolute Zero, where everything stops. If the coldness comes in contact with anything, it stops the movement of their electrons, making the object or person desintegrate.

 

Hyoma Juji Soumai:

By absorbing the energy of the Inferno's Chill into his swords, Akira focuses the Absolute Zero temperature into an enemy's body, which completely disintegrates them. this attack Allows Akira to direct the temperature instead of having it flow in a circle, which can cause him to waste energy.

 

Shadow Ice of Maria:

This technique allows Akira to absorb the power of Inferno's Chill. After absorbing it, he can open his eyes and heighten his senses and reflexes allowing him to see and sense everything and makes him fast enough to completely dodge or block every attack, then strike back after each one. He then traps his enemies inside an ice pillar. He then drops the temperature to below absolute Zero, guaranteeing the kill.

But while the technique is strong, his body is severely damaged after using this technique.

Fictional Biography

Akira is the first of Kyo's old comrades, the Shiseiten, to appear in the manga. At first it appears that he has become Kyo's enemy, having joined the Juunishinshou, but Akira has a more pressing purpose. He wants to know why Kyo left the Shiseiten four years ago, and since Kyo promised him that he would tell him to the answer once he became stronger than Kyo, Akira has been training himself for four years in order to surpass Kyo.

It is clear from the start that Akira felt betrayed and abandoned when Kyo left the Shiseiten and would like nothing more than for the group to reform and continue where they left off. When Kyo first picks up Akira he appears to only be about ten years old and so Kyo has obviously had a huge influence on the majority of Akira's short life. Despite his initial hostility and desire to fight Kyo, Akira also seems quite attached to Kyo and the other Shiseiten, and it isn't long before he's going well out of his way in order to protect them.
